Our goal is to engage the whole congregation in the mitzvah of reaching out to others. There are many ways to participate, from simple acts of kindness to larger projects. Our Caring Community supports congregants in times of need and sorrow, rejoices with them during life’s happier milestones and seeks to nurture connections within our synagogue family.
The Caring Community Committee oversees the following programs and services:
Caring Caps: Hand-knitted caps for chemotherapy patients
Accessibility for Special Needs: Hearing assistive aids, large print prayer books and special seating arrangements for services
Blankets of Hope: Fleece blankets made in group activity and given to congregants who are ill
New baby welcome packages
Volunteers to help congregants with meals, transportation and visitation
Cards for condolence or illness
Shiva set-up support
