Calling all sports fans!
What is the difference between ethical sportsmanship and unethical gamesmanship? We will look at examples from participants' own experiences as athletes and/or fans, and we will debate whether specific examples from professional sports fall on the right or wrong side of the ethical line, and why. For instance, is it ethical for a team that has been eliminated from the playoffs to try to lose their last game in order to get a higher draft pick.
Our discussion will be led by Sarah Rosenson, a long-time member of Congregation M'kor Shalom, a former lawyer, and a life-long sports fan. She taught ethics at Moorestown Friends School for over a decade, and now teaches children on the online platform Outschool.com, and adults and multi-generational groups at SarahsClass.net.
